Description :

The LIRIS (Laboratoire d’InfoRmatique en Image et Systèmes d’information) was created in 2003 from the merging of several laboratories involved in Communication and Information Technology. The LIRIS is affiliated to the CNRS (Centre National de Recherche Scientifique) under the label UMR 5205. The laboratory involves 280 people with 94 faculties and researchers from INSA de Lyon, Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1, École Centrale de Lyon, Université Lumière Lyon 2 and CNRS. The LIRIS activities are split into two departments: the Image department and the Data, Knowledge and Services department. The Image department is organized into five teams that share three main skills, cooperation, analysis and geometrical modeling for 3D objects, simulation, realistic rendering and augmented reality, features extraction and identification. The Data, Knowledge, and Services department is organized into five teams, including the Silex team. These five teams share two main skills, knowledge discovery (data mining, complex sys- tem modeling, knowledge engineering) and services engineering (security and confidentiality, modeling, integration and querying, service composition).
